Guides for capturing, saving and sharing with GaspCam.

Get a pose ready

Open Pose, tap Up next and choose a card. Browsing never changes the subject's screen. Tap Show pose on Duo, or Show reference on a single-screen iPhone. Then take a clean photo. Classic and Chaos timers are available from Timer.

Capture a surprise

Tell your subject that a short silent clip will be recorded. In Surprise, choose an animation, import an image/GIF, or write a message. Tap Reveal + Capture. GaspCam prepares playback, waits for the camera to confirm recording, then reveals after a short lead-in. The REC badge stays visible while capture is active.

Using an ordinary iPhone

Pose references can be shown before taking the photo. A Surprise selfie reveal uses the front camera: let the subject watch the screen while it records their reaction. There is no second display on an ordinary iPhone. Clips do not contain audio.

Duo display unavailable

Use iOS 27.1 or later and open GaspCam full screen on the inner display with camera access allowed. The system decides whether the subject display can appear. Folding, multitasking or a camera interruption can make it unavailable. GaspCam stops the reveal, hides content and keeps any usable partial clip. Reconnecting does not replay the surprise.

Permissions

Camera: Settings > Apps > GaspCam > Camera. Saving: choose Save original to Photos, then allow Add Photos. If denied, your original remains in My shots and can still be shared. Import uses the system picker; broad access to your library is not required.

Imports

Use Photos or Files for images/GIFs. Maximum import size: 25 MB. Animated GIFs may contain up to 180 frames and are decoded to a bounded display size to avoid exhausting memory. Original import files are retained. No URL imports or online GIF search.

Purchases

GaspCam is purchased upfront on the App Store. To download it again, use the same Apple Account that purchased the app. Apple handles billing and refund requests. Your purchase includes all 33 poses, all 15 surprises, imports, custom text, capture, saving and sharing. No subscription or in-app purchases.

Saving and sharing

My shots keeps local clean originals. Save to Photos creates a separate copy. Share original sends the clean photo or silent clip. Share layout produces a still comparison labeled Reference / Result or What they saw / Reaction. There is no video-compositing editor.

Feedback

In GaspCam, open Settings to compose feedback and share it through your chosen service. Include your iPhone model, iOS version and a description of the issue.
